Following breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. The journey traverses the picturesque Paro Valley, culminating at the Chuzom (confluence) where the Paro and Thimphu rivers converge. En route, make a stop at Simtokha Dzong, revered as the “place of profound tantric teachings,” which now houses the Institute for Language and Culture Studies.

Upon your return to Thimphu, the evening is at your disposal for relaxation or exploring the town’s vibrant atmosphere. After breakfast, visit Jambay Lhakhang, a 7th-century temple constructed by King Songtsen Gampo of Tibet. Subsequently, explore Chakhar Lhakhang, also known as the Iron Castle. Proceed to Kurjey Lhakhang, a temple situated within a cave where Guru Rimpoche meditated. Finally, visit Tamshing Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the goddess of fertility.
In the evening, attend the inaugural day of the Jambay Lhakhang Festival, which encompasses the Black Hat Dance and Fire Dance (Meacham). These dances are revered for their purifying properties, believed to expel malevolent spirits from the earth.

Following breakfast, embark on an exploration of the upper Punakha Valley. Hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a tranquil and steadfast temple constructed for the promotion of harmony. In the afternoon, return to Paro. If time permits, visit the Kichu Temple, one of the 108 temples constructed by King Songtsen Gampo to vanquish malevolent spirits.
