Our trail traverses a pine forest, and we continue our leisurely walk along the northward-facing trail in the Benkar valley. We cross the Dudh Koshi River and traverse through the towns of Chumoa and Monjo before entering the Everest National Park. After crossing a suspension bridge, we pass through Jorsale town and traverse along the banks of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We ascend a steep trail and reach Namche Bazaar, which is widely recognized as the largest town in the Everest region.

Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

On Acclimatisation Day, we will embark on a journey to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Everest or Khumbu region. Nestled amidst government offices, ATMs, web cafes, shops, restaurants, and a bustling market, Namche Bazaar serves as a gateway to the surrounding wilderness.

For those seeking adventure, we will ascend to Sagarmatha National Park, where we will witness the awe-inspiring dawn over the Himalayas. Majestic peaks like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde will come into view, their snow-capped summits piercing the heavens.

We can also appreciate Cholatse and Taboche peaks. To the northwest, we observe more Himalayan pinnacles rising above the Khumbu Khola Valley. From another vantage point on the embankment, we can also appreciate the picturesque Imja Khola Valley and the charming Dingboche town.

Overnight in Dingboche.

Day
09

Trek to Lobuche.

Lobuche is a relatively short excursion from Dingboche. We traverse a wide pass, providing a welcome respite from the monotony of linear walking. As we commence our trek today, we are awestruck by the majestic Himalayas that surround us. The valley narrows as we approach Dusa. We pass the campsite of the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953. As we continue our trail, we catch a glimpse of Mt. Pumori. Our trail descends and curves, bidding farewell to Mt. Pumori. We cross a stream and ascend to Duglha, a diminutive town adorned with a long string of prayer flags draped over the valley. After reaching Duglha, we can embark on a leisurely 45-minute to an hour walk to visit the Memorial Shrine.

Overnight in Lobuche.

Day
10

Trek to Everest Base Camp.

The trek to Everest Base Camp is generally not overly challenging. However, we primarily ascend and descend on an ice sheet path. Additionally, there is a significant amount of winding on rugged terrain. Upon reaching the base camp, we are awestruck by the breathtaking melt designs and respectfully admire the delicately crafted ice towers on the upper portion of the Khumbu ice mass. The Everest Base Camp is simply stunningly beautiful. From the base camp, we can enjoy breathtaking views of Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori mountains. After taking in the magnificence, we return towards Gorak Shep, where we spend the night.

Day
11

Hike to Kala Patthar

We commence our ascent early, greeted by a dim sky, cool temperatures, and crisp winds. We traverse a refreshingly rejuvenating trail at a leisurely pace. As we ascend, the majestic Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains come into view. The summit offers an awe-inspiring panoramic vista, encompassing the world’s tallest peak, Everest, and other awe-inspiring Himalayan summits. After a period of contemplation at the summit, we descend back to Gorak Shep, a relatively straightforward walk compared to the ascent.

Day
12

Trek to Namche Bazaar

Today, we will descend approximately 2,000 feet in elevation, traversing a trail with varying elevations. We will navigate through a slope covered in rhododendron and juniper trees and cross the Dudh Koshi River. We will descend rapidly through pine forests, where we can easily observe mountain goats, birds, and other wild creatures, as well as birds native to the region.

Day
13

Trek to Lukla

Our expedition commences on an arduous terrain, primarily traversing a downhill trail that follows the Dudh Koshi River. Most amazing experience walking the Everest Base Camp Heli trek, at the end of the season with hardly any other tourists around, while weather conditions were amazing. The trek is unique in its own way, as it’s really authentic, not touristy at all, so you are able to experience authentic Nepalese life and culture.

Trip Reviews

As someone who dreams of becoming a full-time guide, joining this trek taught me a lot. Watching trekkers' expressions as they reached base camp was incredibly inspiring. This trail holds deep personal meaning.

Tenzing Sherpa

This was intense but worth every bit of effort. The air gets thin, and the trek tests your limits, but the scenery and energy of the Khumbu region are unforgettable. Namche Bazaar was a highlight too.

Emily Johnson

Challenging but beautiful. The guides were professional and kept everyone safe and informed. Everest Base Camp itself felt like a sacred place. I just wish the tea houses had a bit more heating in the colder stretches.

Sunita Pokhrel

Reaching base camp was a lifelong dream, and this trek delivered everything I hoped for. The views of Ama Dablam and the Khumbu Icefall were surreal. Acclimatization days made the altitude manageable.
