Upon arrival in Yuksam from Pemayangtse or Gangtok, proceed to a hotel for an overnight stay.

Yuksam serves as the gateway to West Sikkim’s renowned trekking destination, Dzongri. Historically significant, Yuksam, which translates to “meeting place of the three lamas,” is where Buddhism established its roots in Sikkim during the 17th century. Lama Lhatsun Chempo, along with two other lamas, Sempa Chempo and Rinzing Chempo, founded the kingdom’s spiritual foundation here. In 1641, Phuntsog Namgyal, a descendant of the legendary Guru Tashi, was consecrated as Sikkim’s first king by these lamas.

My recent trip to Bhutan was a dream come true for any bird enthusiast. The diverse habitats, from pristine forests to alpine meadows, provided a haven for countless species. My guide, a local expert, had an incredible knowledge of the birds and their behaviors. I was fortunate enough to spot the elusive Rufous-necked Hornbill and the magnificent Blood Pheasant. The combination of stunning scenery and exceptional birdwatching made this trip unforgettable.

Beautiful views but tougher than I expected. Altitude hit me by Day 3. Would still recommend with prep.

This trek combines culture and landscape in a refreshing way. The monasteries we passed felt untouched by time. A good balance of walking and resting days.

I’ve walked parts of this region before but doing the full trek opened up a whole new appreciation. It’s rugged, peaceful, and well off the beaten path.

Lhamu Rai

Dzongri Ridge offered some of the best Himalayan views I’ve seen. Clou Travel’s logistics were seamless. The terrain was tough in parts, but very rewarding.

Felix Dubois

I joined this trek to disconnect, and it worked like magic. Challenging, yes, but the serenity of the trail and the simplicity of the lodges were perfect for inner peace.

Maya Sen

Absolutely stunning trail. Rhododendron forests, sunrise at Dzongri Top, and the remote beauty of Bikbari made this a trek to remember. Ideal for photographers and nature lovers.
